Club Contests

Smedley Award
Program Dates: August 1 – September 30
It all began in 1924. Ralph Smedley invited a few men to meet in the Santa Ana, California YMCA where he conducted the first meeting of what would eventually evolve into Toastmasters International. One person initiated a program that would go on to affect millions of people. In his honor, can your club add five new, dual, or reinstated members between August 1 and September 30? By doing so you’ll qualify to receive a "Smedley Award" ribbon to display on your club’s banner. Membership applications and payment for members who join between August 1 and September 30 must be received at World Headquarters or online no later than September 30. Each members join date as listed on the application must be no later than September. Transfer and charter members do not count for credit. In addition to the ribbon, qualifying clubs will also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order (discount code expires six months from date of issue).

Youth Leadership Program by Crystal TMC

Dear Crystal Ladies,

YLP, our biggest event of the year is coming to town soooooooooooooon...........Nov 20 & 21, 2010.

Youth Leadership Program is part of our community progams aimed at children aged 13-17 years old.

YLP helps them to build their communicationa and leadership skills so they may become tomrrow's leaders in business, industry and community.

The YLP is conducted by members of Crystal Toastmasters Club and assistance from other TM clubs.

Unlike public speaking program offered by training companies, our YLP is facilitated by a group of trainers and mentors from TM.

This is a good opportunity for you to strengthen your communication and leadership skills. You can play role in YLP as speaker, sub cordinator, mentor, facilitor etc.

Emily Bong, the key co-ordinator shall be contacting you soon to find you a role for this biggest event of the year. By participating not only you have self development, you are also contributing by making this a successful event to Crystal TM.

I also attached a copy of the YLP flyer. You may distribute this flyer to your friends, neighbours, colleagues and anyone who you know that you want them to be benefited from this program.

Also, if you know of any TM friends, have them to help to circulate to their clubs too.

Let's develop tomorrow leaders through Crystal's YLP !

Leadership Effectiveness Workshop

We all join Toastmasters to become better public speakers, but a lot of us forget that the Toastmasters vision has two parts – ‘improve their communication and leadership skills’ – we focus on communication and vaguely recall, or overlook leadership.
This mini-workshop is intended for Toastmasters, both new and experienced, who want to have an overview of learning aspects other than project speeches. It’s for all the Toastmasters who ever cried out:

• What’s the Competent Leader programme?
• What does it mean to be an Advanced Leader?
• How do I become a DTM?
• How can I share my skills and experiences in Toastmasters with baby Clubs?
• Why can’t I just stick to my project speeches?
To make things easier for you all, you can even purchase and enquire more about this workshop through Facebook, Here's the link :
