Calling for Nomination

Dear Fellow Toastmasters.

Happy 2014. With Chinese New Year just around the corner, here’s also wishing all a galloping year of good health, great success and happiness.

The start of the new year also comes with the call for nominations for members to serve as District 51 officers for the term 2014-2015, starting 1 July 2014 and ending 30 June 2015.

Nominations are sought for the following District leadership positions:

1. District Governor
2. Lieutenant Governor Education & Training
3. Lieutenant Governor Marketing
4. Division Governors for Divisions A, B, C, E, G, H, M, N, P, Q, S, T and W.

The following are salient points to take note of:

• Ensure your nominee meets the minimum qualification requirements prior to submitting the nomination.
• Complete the attached Officer Nomination Form and Officer Agreement Release Form and email them to the District Nominating Committee Chairman, PDG, L.Thannimalai, DTM (thanni6@gmail.com ) or post to him at: Unit 3-2-3 Well Court, Jalan Edgecumbe, 10250 Penang.

All nominations are to reach the Nomination Committee Chair on or before the timeline of 5:00pm (Malaysian time), Friday, 14 February 2014.

• Any Toastmaster of good standing in District 51 may nominate another Toastmaster for a District officer’s position.
• All 2014-2015 District leadership positions listed above are open for nominations. Please note: there is no fixed line of succession, neither is there any automatic, guaranteed progression from one office to another.
• Nominations will close on 14 February 2014 at 5.00pm Malaysian time. The Nomination Committee will not entertain nominations received after the stated date and time.
• Election of District 51 Officers for the term 2014-2015 will take place at the District Council Meeting on Friday, 2 May 2014 at 2.30pm at The Primula Beach Hotel, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.
• The positions of District Public Relations Officer, District Secretary and District Treasurer will be appointed by the Incoming District 51 Governor.
• The positions of Area Governors will be elected at the respective Area Council Meetings as per past practice in District 51. When necessary, the District Governor may also appoint an Area Governor.
