DUtama TM: Evaluation Contest 2008/09

D'Utama Toastmasters Club conducted their Speech Evaluation Contest on 21st August 2008 at Kolej Damansara Utama (KDU), Room 1.08 and boy what a fantastic contest that was. The club had ten (10) participants and they all perform remarkably in their own rights.

The Organizing Chair and Contest Chair was Toastmasters Marcus Loi who lead the meeting orderly with full of energy and laughter (one would have imagined that we were actually attending the club's Humorous Contest that is to take place on 4th September 08). He proceeded to explain the contest and house rules such as:

House Rules
- To TURN OFF or SILENT all audible making devices such as mobile phones. It may distract the speaker or contestant.
- There is to be NO FLASH photography. It may distract the speaker or contestant.
- There would be a ONE MINUTE SILENCE to between contestants to allow the judges to mark their scores/ballots.
- No one is allowed to walk around the room, or enter/exit the room while the contestants are speaking. The audience may exit/enter the room during the one minute silence. The Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms (ASA) would be guarding the doors to ensure that.
